FAQ
- What is your approach?
The goal of sex therapy is to provide a brief and focused process that yields specific results. This is different from other forms of psychotherapy, which are less results-oriented.
- How long does each appointment take?
We usually schedule 45-minute appointments.
- How long does sex therapy take?
Most sexual dysfunctions can be treated after 1-6 sessions. Some cases might take longer. This can usually be assessed after the first appointment.
- Do I need a partner to participate in sex therapy?
Having your partner participate in therapy can be helpful in many cases (but not always). You can definitely benefit from therapy even without your partner. If you’re not sure about asking your partner to participate, this is something we can discuss before your first appointment.
- How much does sex therapy cost?
The cost for treatment depends on the specific therapist who will work with you. The choice of therapist will be decided according to the specific issue you are requesting help with and your home country and state.
- What is your cancelation policy
If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you will be charged the full fee.
- How do you protect my privacy?
We will only assign you to a therapist that has a secure, HIPPA-compliant telehealth video session infrastructure.
- Does health insurance cover sex therapy?
It depends on your plan. Some plans cover sex therapy consultations. It is important that you talk to your insurance provider first to see if they have any specific requirements and that you have the right coverage.
Unfortunately, we don’t interact with representatives from any insurance plans. Our therapists can issue an invoice or billing statement that you may submit for reimbursement if you’re eligible.
